Midwifery care built on trust, respect and supporting individual needs and wishes.

Driven by a deep love of physiological birth and continuity of care, I will be with you every step of your pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey- however it may look.

My philosophy

Did you know midwifery continuity of care is considered the gold standard of maternity care?

Having a known midwife throughout your entire pregnancy, labour & birth and postpartum is associated with better outcomes for mother and baby (as supported by extensive research). This includes higher rates of maternal satisfaction, higher rates of spontaneous vaginal birth, higher breastfeeding success rates, decreased rates of caesarean sections & instrumental births and decreased rates of intervention (epidurals and episiotomies).

I’m a true believer in birth. I believe society has lost faith in women to be able to perform a normal physiological function of their body and are expecting all women to birth the same and according to their rules and timelines. No two women are the same and no two journeys are the same. Women should be provided with choice and options on how and where they wish to birth their babies. Women should be met with kindness, empathy and understanding and be supported throughout the entire journey of pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

As your midwife I believe in working together to support the pregnancy, birth and postpartum you want. I want you to feel empowered, educated and informed every step of the way. This means lots of education throughout your pregnancy, heart felt conversation when needed, guiding you in finding your village and exploring anything that is important to you.

I love the personalised experience of continuity of care. I love the connection with women, getting other children involved in the care and getting to know the names of family pets!

Endorsed midwife and Hypnobirthing Australia Childbirth Educator.

I am an endorsed midwife meaning I can order pathology tests (blood, urine & swabs) and ultrasounds required in your pregnancy as well as prescribe medications within my scope of practice. I support women planning home birth and hospital birth. If an unforeseen complication arises in pregnancy, then I collaborate with the appropriate hospital in planning the best care for you and your baby.

I also teach the Hypnobirthing Australia Positive Birth Program.

This is an independent childbirth education course that aims to prepare you for a positive birth experience, no matter what turn your birth may take. Learning about how you are wired for birth, the role of your birth partner and practical tools for labour & birth, the course is a great preparation tool.

This can be done in either a group setting which is offered regularly throughout the year, as a private class in the comfort of your own home or as a refresher class for those have previously completed the course.
